Fantastic Mr. Fox seen on 5th Avenue!

Posted in NYC by Andrew Spender on November 29, 2009

We recently saw Wes Anderson’s new movie, Fantastic Mr. Fox at the cinema. The book that it is based on, by Roald Dahl, is a favorite in our house. We loved the film, so we were excited to learn that Bergdorf Goodman on 5th Avenue had arranged for some of the original sets and characters to adorn its windows for the Christmas season. They are amazing. If you’re in the city, it’s a must see. Here are some of the windows we liked most.

Making Movies

Posted in NYC by Andrew Spender on October 30, 2009

A short lesson on how to be totally overtaken by the whole Hollywood thing. Take two famous actors–Samuel L Jackson and The Rock–add a car chase and shoot out, the drop a demolition ball on top of a sports car all outside your apartment. The end result last week was K and me gawping like windowlickers whilst nudging each other saying “wow, that really is Samuel L Jackson… sooooo coooooool”.

Here is a poor quality photo taken with my iPhone. Samuel L Jackson is leaning on the back of the car and The Rock is behind the car (wearing shades). The movie is called “The Other Guys“.
